The OKC Sunrise Rotary Club has always tried to celebrate the Last Thursday of the Month (“LThoTM”) with a social event. Sometimes, it is just to meet for a drink and some food or to visit a new social venue. At the end of March, we celebrated that social event “with a purpose.” For part of our District Grant this year, we purchased three Little Free Libraries and took the opportunity on Thursday evening, March 31st to meet and assemble those libraries. Members brought tools, food and drink and, together, we assembled these Little Libraries and organized the large number of books we collected for each of the three recipients. One was installed at Western Gateway Elementary School, one at F.D. Moon Middle School -- where our Club Secretary, Felix Linden, teaches -- and one at the Will Rogers Housing Project, adjoining South Rotary Park. Service Above Self!
