Rotary District 5750 Newsletter

April Edition

The energy coming out of PETS this year was truly encouraging. It was great to see so many leaders from across District 5750 come together with a shared commitment to serve and grow. The collaboration, conversations, and willingness to learn from one another made a lasting impression.
PETS was more than just training—it was a valuable opportunity to connect, reflect, and prepare for the year ahead. Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed, and supported the experience. Your time and effort are what make this district strong.

April: Environmental Month 🌱

In Rotary International, April is recognized as Environmental Month—a time to focus on caring for our planet and being mindful of the impact we make.
Across the district, clubs may consider:
• Organizing community clean-ups
• Supporting sustainability efforts
• Partnering with local conservation groups
• Encouraging environmental awareness
Even small efforts, when done consistently, can make a meaningful difference.

Looking Ahead

With PETS behind us and April underway, we now turn our attention to the opportunities ahead. Each club, each member, and each project plays a role in shaping the year to come.
There is a lot to look forward to:
• Continued growth in our clubs
• Positive impact in our communities
• Stronger relationships
• New opportunities to serve

Thank you again to everyone who continues to show up, contribute, and support one another. Rotary is strongest because of the people who make it what it is.
Wishing you all a meaningful and impactful April.

Best Regards,

Goals With Purpose: Why Entering Club Goals in Rotary Club Central Matters

A message from the District Trainer

Last weekend at PETS, we spent time talking about vision — the kind of thoughtful, intentional leadership that separates clubs that drift through a Rotary year from clubs that finish it transformed. One of the most concrete ways a President-Elect can translate vision into action is by working with their incoming board to establish club goals and entering them into Rotary Club Central (RCC) before July 1.

This is not a bureaucratic exercise. It is a leadership discipline.

When a PE sits down with their board to define goals for service, membership, public image, and the Foundation, something important happens: the club's priorities become shared priorities. The conversation itself has value. It forces alignment, surfaces competing assumptions, and creates a common understanding of what success looks like for the year ahead. A board that sets goals together is a board that governs together.

Rotary Club Central is the tool Rotary International provides to make that process visible and accountable. When goals are entered into RCC, they become a living benchmark rather than a forgotten conversation from a June board meeting. Club presidents can track progress throughout the year, celebrate milestones, and course-correct when a project or membership initiative stalls. District leadership can also see where clubs may need support or recognition — and that visibility works in your club's favor.

There is also a deeper message embedded in the act of goal-setting. Clubs that set and pursue formal goals tend to be more engaged, more confident in their identity, and more effective at communicating their impact to prospective members and the public. In a world where every organization is competing for people's time and philanthropic energy, a club that can clearly articulate what it accomplished — against what it intended — is a club that attracts serious people.

If you left PETS energized about the year ahead, let that energy take a practical form in the next few weeks. Gather your incoming board. Have the conversation. Set goals that are ambitious but achievable. And enter them in Rotary Club Central so that the whole district can cheer you on. Here’s a link to instructions to enter club goals.

Your year begins now. Make it count.

The Rotary Brand Center is your go-to, one-stop shop for everything you need to promote Rotary consistently and professionally. Accessible through My Rotary (brandcenter.rotary.org), it provides easy access to logos, images, videos, messaging, and ready-to-use templates designed to help clubs and districts tell their story effectively.

Inside, you’ll find downloadable promotional materials, customizable templates for brochures and social media, and tools to create your club logo—all organized into simple sections like “Our Brand,” “Downloads,” and “Templates.”

To use it best, start with templates for quick, polished materials, use the search bar to quickly find what you need, and always download files directly from the site for the highest quality. Most importantly, rely on the Brand Center as your single source of truth so your club’s communications stay consistent, recognizable, and aligned with Rotary’s “People of Action” message.

We are ready to begin accepting your 2026-27 District Grant Applications. The application window is April 15-May 31. Click the link below to review all of the requirements so you can be ready!

In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.

On March 23, Cole Taylor of Cole Taylor Mortgage served as the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Guthrie. During his visit, he also connected with Principal Throckmorton of Guthrie High School.

The club recognized Silas Walsworth as Guthrie High School’s Student of the Week, alongside Katelyn Payne, a visiting Rotarian, and fellow club members.

This month, Rotary focused on WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), an essential area of service that impacts health, dignity, and opportunity in communities around the world and right here at home. Access to clean water, proper sanitation, and basic hygiene is foundational, yet for many, these essentials are not always within reach.

In alignment with this focus, Rotary Club of Edmond members came together to collect high-need items, including hygiene products, for the HOPE Center of Edmond. These items directly support individuals and families in our community who need a little extra help, ensuring that basic needs are met with dignity and care.

The HOPE Center works every day to connect neighbors with vital resources, serving as a trusted hub of support in Edmond. Through this partnership, Rotary members had the opportunity to turn awareness into action, contributing tangible items that make an immediate difference in people’s lives.

WASH is often thought of as a global issue, but this month reminded us that it is also a local one. Hygiene items, clean environments, and access to essential resources are critical to the well-being of every community. By focusing on these needs, we strengthen not only individual lives but the overall health and resilience of our community.

Community impact grows when more people choose to get involved. Whether through donations, volunteerism, or advocacy, each action contributes to a larger collective effort. If you are looking for a way to make a difference, consider supporting the Edmond Hope Center or one of the many service organizations working every day to serve others in our community.

Small acts of generosity, when multiplied across a community, create meaningful and lasting change. Together, we continue to unite for good and live out Service Above Self.
