Please consider making a gift to the Rotary Foundation this month!

Just Announced – The Rotary Foundation has received the highest rating from Charity Navigator for the 15th consecutive year! The 4 STAR 100% Rating is testament to the impact, accountability, and transparency of our foundation.

In 1917, Rotary International President Arch C. Klumph proposed an endowment "for the purpose of doing  good in the world."  His vision became The Rotary International Foundation.  In 1917, Rotary International President Arch C. Klumph proposed an endowment "for the purpose of doing  good in the world."  His vision became The Rotary International Foundation.

The Foundation’s Mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty.  When you give to The Rotary International (RI) Foundation, you fuel RI service projects - projects that eradicate polio, promote peace and improve developing communities.

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.  During the past 100 years, the Foundation has spent $3 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.  Your donation makes a difference to those who need our help most.  More than 90 percent of donations go directly to supporting our service projects around the world.

Rotarians can contribute in a range of different ways including:

  • The Paul Harris Society recognizes Rotary Members who undertake to contribute $1,000 each year to The Rotary International Foundation of Rotary International.  Rotary Districts often honor new Members of the Paul Harris Society by presenting them with a certificate and chevron at a district or club event.
  • Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY)The EREY initiative asks every Rotarian to support The Rotary International Foundation every year.  In addition to contributing to the Annual Fund on a regular basis, Members are encouraged to get involved in a Foundation project or program.  A goal which many set for themselves is $100 per year.
  • End Polio Now Contributions and for $100 to be an End Polio Now Society Member.
  • Individual Rotary Clubs can apply to the Rotary Foundation - both through their Rotary District and Rotary International - for grants towards their projects. Accordingly, funds we contribute to the Rotary International Foundation can be returned to us to support our own projects.
  • For more information about ways to give to the Foundation and schedule a presentation, please contact Larry Stone at larry.stone@fourstone.com.

Rotarians, thank you for all you do!  You are making a huge difference in this world!  A very blessed Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.

In Your Service,
Jeanean

OKC Midtown Rotary November Updates

OKC Midtown Rotary had a great month and were invited by OKC's Midtown district to participate in their semi-annual  Midtown Walkabout. We thought this was a great opportunity to show visitors and residents what our club is known for - supporting the public arts! We had a large canvas donated by a club member and a local artist sketched an OKC scene on it to get our work started. Passersby were invited to contribute to the art piece and we had artists of all ages put their own personal touches on the canvas. Our one of a kind community created art piece will be raffled or auctioned at our yearly fundraiser, the Spelling Bee(R).

WASH in Schools Global Grant
Kevin Richardson recently had the privilege of representing our district at the ribbon cutting for the WASH in Schools Global Grant projects that were recently completed in Macuelizo, Santa Barbara, Honduras.  Seven clubs from our district partnered with District 4730 and the Rotary Club of San Pedro Sula to provide access to potable water, flushable toilets and hand washing stations at El Pital School and El Rosario School through a partnership with Feed the Children Honduras. Each school serves more than 200 primary and secondary students in rural northwestern Honduras. The ribbon cutting ceremonies were attended by school officials, students, family members, local officials and Rotarians.
Registration is open for Mid-America President Elect Training.  If you plan to lead your Rotary Club or want to learn more about Rotary International mark your calendar and get registered today.
