A New Rotary Year Begins – Together

Dear Rotarians,

As I step into the role of District Governor, I am filled with gratitude for the journey that brought me here—and for the journey we are about to take together. My story, like many of yours, is one of mentorship and of the Rotary spirit lifting us into purpose and service.

This year, we rally under the banner “United for Good.” That phrase captures the heart of who we are—not just as individuals, but as a collective force for positive change. When we unite around shared values and meaningful goals, we create impact that lasts.

July was Leadership Month. Whether you’re leading a committee, mentoring a new member, or simply showing up with consistency and care—you are a leader.

As August rolls in, we celebrate Membership Month by sharing stories of impact, passions, and reasons for joining Rotary — all while putting our Action Plan into motion. We increase our impact by highlighting the real-world change our members create. We expand our reach by inviting others to see Rotary in action through open events and personal connections. We enhance engagement by listening to member stories, valuing their journeys, and creating space for meaningful participation. And we increase our ability to adapt by exploring fresh ways to serve, connect, and grow together. This month isn't just about celebrating membership — it's about building a stronger Rotary for the future.

Let’s lead with intention, and let’s do it together.

Invite someone to experience Rotary today.

What to Expect This Year

Here are some of the ways we’ll bring this year to life — guided by Rotary’s Action Plan to make our work more impactful, inclusive, and inspiring:

  • Club Visits: I’ll be visiting every club to hear your stories and support your vision.
  • Youth Engagement: We’re building stronger bridges between Rotaract, Interact, and Rotary clubs.
  • Peace & Inclusion: We’ll emphasize diverse voices, peaceful dialogue, and welcoming all into the Rotary family.
  • Leadership Development: Watch for training opportunities, spotlights on member achievements, and shared resources across the district.

Challenges of the Month

Identify someone in your club with potential—and let them know you see it. Whether they’re a quiet encourager or a dynamic organizer, remind them that leadership begins with being recognized and empowered. It only takes one spark to light a fire.

Share Rotary. One conversation can change a life - and a community.

Special thanks to Francesco Arezzo, Rotary International President 2025-26, for his leadership and dedication.

Yours in Service,
Mukesh Patel

A Clarion Call to Grow Rotary District 5750
Together, Let’s Grow by 20% in 3 Years

Fellow Rotarians of District 5750,

The time is now. We have experienced two consecutive years of negative growth, yet our
communities are calling out for more connection, more compassion, and more committed
leadership—and Rotary remains the answer. We are more than meetings. We are mentors,
mobilizers, and changemakers. And yet, our potential is limited only by our numbers.

Today, District Governor Mukesh Patel and I, your District Membership Chairperson, have
issued a clarion call to raise Rotary District 5750 by 20%—from 1,595 to 1,860 members—by July 1, 2028.

This is not just about numbers. This is about impact. About reaching the unreached.
About empowering clubs to thrive, not survive. About ensuring the next generation knows the value of Service Above Self.

We will do this by:
• Strengthening the heart of every club through retention, relevance, and revitalization.
• Starting new clubs that reflect our diverse, modern world—flexible, cause-based, and
community-driven.
• Telling our story boldly, so the world knows who we are and why we serve.
• Engaging our youth, alumni, and partners in service to build a pipeline of future Rotarians.

We are calling on every club, every leader, every member to answer this call.

Invite. Inspire. Include. Because one new member is one more idea, one more hand, one more heart to do good in the world.

Let us rise to the challenge. Let us grow stronger together. Let us show what Rotary looks like when it leads boldly into the future.

Our Rotary Zone 30 and 31 will host a Virtual Membership Attraction Summit, 21 Aug 2025, 6:30 PM-8:00 PM, for club and district leaders. It is free but it will require you to register. See the above flyer for details and registration QR code. Or click here for the link.

August is membership month in Rotary, a time when we celebrate our members, recognize
their contributions, and engage with prospective members. There are many resources we can use to promote membership in our clubs and enhance participation engagement. Go to
blog.rotary.org, Rotary 360 Degrees/The official blog of Rotary International for 10 ideas to
maximize engagement during Membership Month.

This is our moment. Let’s grow.

Make new connections and create unforgettable memories at the 2026 Rotary International Convention in Taipei City, where traditional and contemporary culture beautifully intertwine.

Unsure of what awaits you at a Rotary International Convention? Explore articles, videos, and photos from past conventions for a sense of their inspirational power. In Taipei, you’ll join fellow changemakers from around the world to share innovative projects, exchange best practices, and form enduring friendships. The convention is packed with exciting breakout sessions, speakers, and more.

Are you still on the fence deciding if you want to join me and tens of thousands of your closet Rotarians?

Here are six compelling reasons to attend the Rotary International Convention 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan:

1. Global Connections & Lasting Fellowship
With more than 30,000 participants from 150+ countries, the Taipei Convention is a dynamic place to foster international projects and friendships. Rotarians describe the event vibe as social, enthusiastic, and full of smiling faces—your name badge becomes the starting point for meaningful connections.

2. Strategic Location in Asia
This is the second time Taipei hosts the Convention (first in 1994), highlighting its growing
global importance. Hosting in Taipei shines a spotlight on Asia for Rotary and helps advance Rotary’s presence across the continent.

3. Rich Cultural Immersion & Signature Events
Explore Taiwan’s heritage via tours of Chiang Kaishek Memorial Hall, Longshan Temple, and
craft or culinary experiences like pineapple cake DIY, sky lanterns, or hot springs. Enjoy unique HOC Signature events such as the END POLIO NOW cycling tour, Taiwanese opera,
and a gala with the National Symphony Orchestra.

4. Exceptional Government & Local Support
Taiwan’s President has publicly endorsed the Convention, and local government and Rotary
clubs across 12 districts are fully engaged to ensure a seamless experience. This level of
collaboration reflects a shared mission for peace, service, and global cooperation.

5. Learning, Inspiration, and Impact
Gain insights from high caliber sessions, workshops, and global best practice sharing on topics such as service leadership, sustainable development, and peacebuilding. You’ll leave with actionable ideas, renewed passion, and new friends to build local and international service initiatives.

6. Food and eating
Taipei, just like many cities in Asia like Bangkok or Seoul, has an incredible food culture, and in Taipei, there seems to be a never ending supply of delicious and interesting foods to try.

One of the best things about eating in Taiwan is that there are many different types of Chinese and even Japanese food influences in the cuisine. And along with local Taiwanese dishes, you’ll find restaurants in Taipei that serve dishes from around continental China. Can you say stinky tofu!!!

Additionally, Taiwan is one of the world leaders when it comes to night markets… there are so many different night markets throughout Taipei that offer both shopping and an opportunity to walk around and feast.

Are you ready to be forever changed by the sense of belonging to the world’s largest
movement for humanity’s peace and prosperity? Are you ready to be forever changed and
inspired by the great work Rotary clubs are doing all over the world? Are you ready to explore the markets, restaurants and cultural landmarks of Taiwan? Registration is open and is waiting for you. I look forward to sharing a Taiwan beer….or two…or three with you. See you there….dào nàr jiàn.
