We are in our third month of our Rotary year. “Chili” James McQuilar, District Membership Chair, Mike Trewitt, DGN, and Mack Patel, DGE, and I have visited each club more than once. We have failed to secure a time to meet with several club boards to discuss their goals and how we might be helpful.

I am requesting that you call me and schedule that meeting: Jack Werner, DG 405-406-1790.

If you are not familiar with Vision Facilitation, please look at: rivisionfacilitation.org

Thank you,

Jack Werner, DG

IRS annual filing - Deadline Approaching
The deadline is quickly approaching to file your annual information return.

Whether your club is a subordinate under Rotary International’s 501(c)(4) group exemption or is independently tax-exempt, the IRS requires that all Rotary clubs in the U.S. and its territories file an annual information return. For clubs whose tax year follows the Rotary year, the deadline to file is 15 November. The form a club must file is dependent upon its gross receipts for the year. For more information, please see Frequently asked questions about annual reporting requirements for exempt organizations at www.irs.gov

It is important that your club comply with IRS requirements. Please note Section 6033(j) of the Internal Revenue Code automatically revokes the exemption of any organization that fails to satisfy its filing requirement for three consecutive years

Our document, US Rotary and Rotaract Clubs and the IRS: Frequently Asked Questions, provides general information about Rotary clubs and the IRS. For specific questions regarding your club’s tax-exempt status, reporting requirements, or your club’s ability to file, contact local counsel, your tax adviser, or the IRS directly at www.irs.gov or 877-829-5500.

Training Opportunities
District 5750 will pay for any Rotary Leadership Training or Rotary responsibilities that you are asked to attend THAT TAKES PLACE WITHIN OUR ZONE (ZONE 31). If the Rotary activity is OUTSIDE of ZONE 31, DISTRICT 5750 expects to match what the club expends, if the approximate amount is submitted and approved in advance.

Thank you. Jack Werner, DG
2025 Rotary Presidential Peace Conference
International Day of Peace was September 21st.  This day offers us a unique opportunity to reflect on the power of peace and the vital role we play as Rotarians in advancing this mission.

Led by Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick, the 2025 Rotary Presidential Peace Conference in Istanbul, Türkiye, 20-22 February 2025, will be an opportunity for the Rotary community and our partners to build on Rotary’s contributions to promoting peace by exploring:

  • Peace in a polarized world
  • Technology, media, and peacebuilding
  • Environmental issues in peacebuilding
  • Making peace last
The conference will also recognize the launch of the new Otto and Fran Walter Rotary Peace Center in partnership with Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul.

The Peace Conference page, rotary.org/istanbul25, was recently updated and registration is now open.
