I am pleased to share an exciting opportunity to recognize outstanding individuals in our communities. I have 32 desk Lucite paperweights, each engraved with the Rotary logo and the words:
Rotary District 5750 "For Excellence"
Each club will receive one of these awards with the expectation that they will select a deserving community member—someone who is not a Rotarian and not a family member of a Rotarian—to be honored. This individual should be recognized for any meaningful contribution they have made to the community. I encourage clubs to invite the recipient and their family as guests to a Rotary meeting, where the award can be presented in appreciation of their efforts.
Additionally, I am gathering a list of Rotarians’ achievements from the past year, whether within Rotary or in the broader community. If you or a fellow Rotarian have received an award or recognition—from Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, a school, Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters, or any other organization—or have achieved a new certification, degree, or board appointment, please share this information with me. Let’s celebrate the impact our members are making! Please send your stories to me at atozinspections@yahoo.com.
Finally, I’m excited to announce an initiative to support RYLA and Wings. For every $675 payable to District 5750 and noted for RYLA or Wings—whether through club or individual donations—the District will reimburse $200 to the contributing club. This is a great way to strengthen our investment in youth leadership and community development.
Thank you for your commitment to Service Above Self. Let’s continue to recognize and support those who make a difference!
Mustang Rotary club participated in the Mustang Chocolate Festival. Members made over 600 pieces of different types of yummy chocolates to hand out with other vendors to patrons who had bought a ticket. It was a great evening and all the proceeds went to The Friends of the Mustang Public Library, which is a nonprofit that works to provide equipment, programs and other enhancements for the library.
The festival features homemade chocolates, cupcakes, chocolate covered bacon and so many more delicious treats.
Yes, we all left at the end of the evening a couple pounds heavier! lol

Rotary Club of Edmond Delivers Unprecedented Support to Local Classrooms
The Rotary Club of Edmond, in partnership with the Edmond Public Schools Foundation, is celebrating the remarkable impact they have made on local education. Through the
DonorsChoose program and the Classroom Support initiative, the club has successfully funded 609
teacher projects, investing a total of $316,761 and enriching the educational experiences of over
85,510 students within Edmond Public Schools.
Our Rotary District was given a unique opportunity to partner with the Gary Sinise Foundation and GEICO South Office, and we proudly hosted a two-night movie premiere of Brothers After War, 26-27 Feb 2025, Warren Theater, Moore, OK, an inspiring film highlighting the resilience and sacrifices of our nation’s heroes.
This collaboration provided our District with a unique opportunity to expand its reach into the active-duty and retired military communities, strengthening its commitment to service and veteran support. By engaging with military families and supporters, this initiative has the potential to welcome new members into Rotary and even generate new clubs dedicated to serving those who have served our country.
“We were honored to work alongside the Gary Sinise Foundation and GEICO South Office to bring this powerful film to our community,” said DG Jack Werner. “This event not only raised awareness about the challenges faced by veterans but also demonstrated Rotary’s dedication to making a tangible impact in their lives.”
Our District remains committed to fostering meaningful partnerships that align with its mission of service above self. Through efforts like this, we will continue to bridge the gap between civilian and military communities, ensuring that support for our veterans extends far beyond the screen.
Thank you, DG Jack Werner, DGE Mukesh Patel, President West OKC Frank O’Leary, Assistant Governor Area 9 Shawn Houk, and South OKC member Jamie Crowe for providing 35 hours of booth support and reaching approximately 350 of our fellow citizens.
Your membership team will aggressively look to partner with other community events to extend our reach and influence into traditional and non-traditional areas across our District. We have a District 10’x12’ canopy, ribbon flags, desktop banners, flyers, pamphlets, and pens and pencils to add to your membership efforts. Please do not hesitate to contact James “Chili’ McQuillar, 405-659-2116, jmcquillar@cox.net, if you need any help
developing a membership strategy specific for your club and your community and/or you want to have a District presence at your next membership drive.
