Greetings Rotarians,

I am still riding the Rotary wave from such a successful District Assembly on Saturday, August 27th. I am so impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm of our leadership. Many thanks to our District leaders for stepping up and presenting. I loved hearing the club presidents in my breakout session who rightfully bragged on their members and all the wonderful service projects being done in District 5750.

I have had the privilege of attending Ponca City, Woodward, Enid, West OKC, South OKC, Clinton, Edmond, and East Oklahoma County, Edmond Summit, Woodward, and Kingfisher clubs plus a Bricktown social. I am scheduled for Edmond on October 5, Midtown on October 17, and Oklahoma City Club 29 on January 31.

My Rotary word for this month is ENGAGEMENT! Engage all members at the level they are most comfortable. Remember, one size does not fit all. There is room for everyone at our fellowship table so make that room. For example, as an asthmatic, I can not do outdoor work, but I can serve donuts, treats, coffee, and tea or run errands for those Rotarians who can do outdoor work. I also can write thank you notes and help plan activities. Please find a place for all ages and talents to help. Find a place for Rotarians that want to serve to be able to serve.

We are off to a great start and let’s keep the enthusiasm and motivation going and be kind to each other.
Deena Fisher
District Governor 2022-2023

Suggested Speaker List
One of the things that is a frequent request from our clubs is information regarding the booking of interesting speakers.  District Governor Nominee Jack Werner has developed a list of potential speakers to send to all our clubs for their use.  I have gathered information from several local clubs and developed a list to share with all our everyone and intend to send out quarterly updates to this list.

We welcome input from all of you. If you have programs you recommend, please reach out Dawn Mahiya with South Oklahoma City Rotary at pernlysara@gmail.com.

Rotary Flag Exchange
Do you know about Rotary’s flag exchange tradition?

Rotary Clubs display their own decorative flags at meetings and events. Rotarians traveling to other countries often take these flags to exchange with the clubs they visit.
