On Saturday, May 3, 2025, the Del City Rotary Club partnered with Epperly Heights Elementary School and Del City High School Navy JROTC to host a highly successful Kids Bike Safety Rally. Held at the school’s parking lot, the event attracted local families and young cyclists, underscoring the community's commitment to promoting safe cycling habits among children.
Free Helmets, Safety Checks & Fun Activities
The rally offered a comprehensive program designed to educate and engage young riders:
• Free Helmets and Bike Adjustments: Instructors from the Del City Rotary Club and local volunteers conducted complimentary helmet fittings and bike safety checks, ensuring each child was properly equipped for safe cycling.
• Safety Rodeo Course: A specially designed obstacle course allowed children to practice essential biking skills and traffic hand signals in a controlled environment, simulating real-world traffic scenarios.
• Engaging Activities: The event featured snacks, giveaways and interactive sessions, keeping participants entertained while reinforcing important safety messages.
Community Collaboration
The success of the rally was made possible through the collaborative efforts of various community organizations:
• Del City Rotary Club: Organized and facilitated the event, providing the necessary resources and volunteers.
• Epperly Heights Elementary School: Hosted the event, offering their facilities and support to ensure its smooth execution.
• Del City High School Navy JROTC: Provided manpower and grilled up some delicious hotdogs for the hungry bikers.

While this was the Club’s 5th bike safety event, the club continues to embody its moto, "Service Above Self," through initiatives that foster a safer and more connected community.
