Our district’s first-ever global grant scholar recently returned to Oklahoma and presented to the clubs that sponsored her. During visits with the Stillwater clubs and Edmond Rotary, Natalie Hodde shared her experiences in Edinburgh, Scotland where she earned a Master of Science in Environment and Development at the University of Edinburgh.
While there, she was active in Rotary. She attended her host club meetings 1-2 times per month, presented to seven clubs, and participated in several district events. In addition to her coursework and her Rotary activities, she worked to pay some of her living expenses, and volunteered with two organizations.

Natalie now works as a water resource engineer for Scheibe Consulting in Austin, TX, where she works on floodplain projects. Her long-term goal is to work on water projects for a nonprofit organization.

Natalie expressed appreciation to the four sponsoring clubs, our district, and The Rotary Foundation for making her study program possible. Without Rotary support, this opportunity would not have been possible.

In the adjoining picture, Natalie is on the left with the other Global Grant Scholars in Edinburgh. They became great friends and supported each other through the challenges of studying abroad.
