If your club is working with a Rotaract Club in District 5750, we ask you please assist with two things:

1 - Please notify the District so that we may include the club on our District website
2 - Please forward the below message from Risk Management to anyone currently working with a Rotaract Club or in the process of establishing one:

On Monday, Risk Management is sending the message shown below to Rotaract club officers and officers-elect in the U.S. However, as relatively few have been reported to Rotary International, we ask you to help us amplify this message. As you interact with Rotaractors during the course of your appointment, please take a moment to advise them about the U.S. Rotary Club & District Liability Insurance Program and forward them this message.

Regards,

Risk Management

---Beginning of Message---

You have received this email because you are an officer or officer-elect of your Rotaract club.

Last week, Rotary International emailed you a Club Invoice with assessments for General Liability Insurance and Directors & Officers Insurance, policies which are part of the U.S. Rotary Club & District Liability Insurance Program ("Program"). While Rotaract has been covered under the Program since 2001, Rotaract clubs are now being assessed for these policies ($0.61 and $0.10 per member, respectively) as part of Rotaract's elevation to membership status. These are reduced rates and do not represent the full cost of insurance.

General liability ("GL") insurance protects your club for its liability arising out of bodily injury or property damage to a third party.

Directors & officers ("D&O") insurance protects your club's officers and other members from claims arising out of the performance of their duties.

Your club might be required to evidence GL insurance when:
  • You are hosting an event and the venue requests evidence of liability insurance
  • You are hosting a wine tasting fundraiser and the venue requests evidence of liquor liability insurance
  • A guest at your event or fundraiser trips and falls, then wants your club to pay their medical bills
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Rotary International's insurance broker, has a website featuring further information about the Program and what it provides to your club. The website, username, and password are below:

Website: rotary.ajg.com
Username: rotary@ajg.com
Password: rotarian1

Please note, for the website and username, that is A-J-G.

The website is only for U.S. Rotary and Rotaract club and district use. Please feel free to share the credentials with others in your club, but do not post them anywhere online, as this is the exclusive source for all of the Program's documents, forms, and other materials.

Please email us with any questions (insurance@rotary.org), and we will continue to provide updates about the Program to Rotaract club officers and officers-elect.

Regards,

Risk Management
