The Midwest City Rotary Club served up their 9th Annual Shrimp Boil Fund Raising event on Saturday April 2, 2022 and it was a huge success.  The event was moved back to the pre-COVID spring schedule after being forced to reschedule the 2020 event to late 2021.  The Shrimp Boil fund raising event is the largest fund raiser of the year and provides the primary funding, at least in part, for every project we do throughout the year.

The event raised approximately $40,000 through table sponsors, a large auction, and tips for the servers that will fund local community and international service projects throughout the year.  In addition to specific local projects, approximately 1500 Mid-Del 3rd and 4th grade will be directly impacted through our dictionary project and tennis shoe project.  As the end of the school year approaches, the Midwest City Rotary Club will distribute thousands of dollars in scholarships to seniors from Carl Albert High School and Midwest City High School that have participated in the many service projects and that have earned service project points throughout the year.

Austin Fisher, Midwest City Rotary Club President said, “I can’t be more proud of our MWC Rotary Club.  This event requires over 40 Rotarians and many spouses plus the assistance of Interact students from Midwest City High School and Junior Rotarians from Carl Albert High School.  Not only do these folks work hard on this event, they also have servant hearts and work on all of our service projects year-round. They epitomize the definition of ‘Service Above Self.”
