Teacher of the Month - January 2022
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.  
 
Chelsie Titsworth has been a first grade teacher at Central Elementary School for 7 years, and is part of the First Grade English Language Arts and Math Curriculum Committees for the Putnam City School District. She received the Unconventional Thinking in Teaching Grant from Marathon Oil in 2021.
 
She graduated from UCO with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Business Administration, and is committed to building a loving, engaging and equitable classroom community where all students thrive and feel a sense of belonging.  
 
Chelsie enhances student learning by meeting each child exactly where they are and incorporates their interests and creativity into learning.   She also serves as a mentor to new teachers in her building as well as students still in college,  and believes strongly in growth mindset. 
 
Chelsie loves being adventurous, traveling, playing pickleball and spending time with her husband Tyler and their goldendoodle Oakley.
 

Teacher of the Month - February 2022
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.  

Duncan Fugitt has taught Physics at Edmond North High School for seven years and developed the first STEM course in his school district that offers a collaborative learning experience between math and science. He also served as the head coach for the Boys Tennis program for the past six years and led them to two 6A State Championships in 2018, and 2019, and two runner-up finishes in 2017, and 2021. 

Duncan received his Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from OU in 2013 where he graduated summa cum laude.  He is a member of the National Science Teachers Association and works with many other teachers in the district to help develop and implement engaging curriculum that allows students to experience science in an engaging and personal way; he is also a member of the U.S. Tennis Association, seeking to continually improve as a coach to better serve his student-athletes.

Duncan was awarded the 2021 Edmond Public Schools - District Teacher of the Year, and  is a passionate and dynamic teacher who values each day as an opportunity to help his students grow as students and as people.
