Greetings!

It's October, and a lot is going on in the world of Rotary. This month is economic and community development month, which I know many of our clubs heavily focus on in their area.

Don't forget that October 24th is World Polio Day, and it's not too late to organize an event for your club. If you'd like some ideas and materials, you can visit the End Polio Now toolkit found at https://www.endpolio.org/resource-center. I challenge each of us to donate that day; even if it is just $10, the added Bill & Melinda Gates contribution will triple your donation.

Thank you, Perry Rotary, for inviting me to speak as part of your first-ever hybrid meeting this past month! I look forward to visiting each of the clubs virtually and ask that you please reach out if you have not done so already. I am happy to help with any tips for a hybrid or fully online meeting.

Finally, I wanted to share a big thank you to the following Rotarians, who recently took the time out of their busy life to attend an Emerging Leaders Summit hosted by Zones 30 and 31.  Brittany Atauvich - Ponca City, Laura Nauman - OKC Midtown, Kelli Seacat & Deena Fisher - Woodward, Gareth Williams - OKC Sunrise, and Jonna Herbert - West Oklahoma City! We have a fantastic group of Rotarians in our District, and I am always so impressed by the dedication, and I am honored to serve alongside you. Stay in touch and be well!

Thanks,
Angela Rickman

Don't Forget PolioPlus!
Last April, during an online meeting of District leadership, Matt Murphy, District Foundation Chair, noted that so far district donations to PolioPlus had been only $1,368 - an average of 75 cents per Rotarian.

As we approach World Polio Day on October 24, please consider making a special donation for this cause.  A child’s life may be saved just because of you.

EDMOND - VIRTUAL

West Oklahoma City - End Polio Now
The West Oklahoma City Rotary Club has been busy! We offer the Zoom platform and meet in-person every Wednesday at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse Event Center. We don’t just have a meeting room; we’ve become a member of the Stockyards community!

Members John Johnson, Patrick Alexander, and Danna Syzmanski have been promoting End Polio Now. For several weeks, John has shared weekly about a famous individual infected with the wild polio virus and their contribution through or because of their hardship that benefit society as a whole. Patrick Alexander submitted a great article to OKC Friday and Danna Syzmanski is working on social media promotions.
