As my year as District Governor draws to a close, I’ve taken time to reflect on the journey—and especially on the people who have walked alongside me. I am filled with gratitude for those who have encouraged me, inspired me, and made me proud to be a Rotarian.

These individuals embody the spirit of Rotary and live the Four-Way Test in their everyday lives. Their commitment to service, integrity, and fellowship has not only strengthened our district but also enriched my own experience.

I am truly honored to know them. Their example reminds me of the power of Rotary to build meaningful connections and create lasting change. Thank you for making this year of service a meaningful and memorable one.

I have listed many below—each one of them has contributed in their own way to making this a remarkable year.

Budgeting For Rotary Dues

In preparation of the upcoming Rotary year, dues for the district will change effective July 1, 2025 to $60 per member; and the semi-annual billing will be invoiced at $30 per member count on July 1 per the club vote held last year.

The Rotary International Dues will have increases as listed below as the Council on Legislation just voted an increase for 3 more years. At this time the magazine and Insurance costs should be relatively the same, $18 and the insurance/Council on Legislation costs at $7.13 annually.

RI Dues                Annual
Current                $78.50
2025-26               $82.00
2026-27               $85.75
2027-28               $89.50

Lance Singleton
Rotary Club of Edmond Connects and Celebrates: A Month of Service, Scholarship, and Growth
The Rotary Club of Edmond continues to make impactful strides in both growing its membership and supporting the community through education and service.

In a recent effort to expand its reach and engage with future leaders, club members invited the Edmond Young Professionals (EYP) group to a networking event at Frenzy Brewing. The evening was filled with lively conversation, shared values, and an exchange of ideas, all in the relaxed and inviting atmosphere of a local favorite. The collaboration served as an ideal platform to introduce the mission of Rotary to a younger demographic, showcasing the value of service, fellowship, and professional development. Events like these are a key part of the club’s strategy to grow and diversify its membership while fostering meaningful community relationships.

Also, this month, the club hosted its annual Career Shadow Day, offering Edmond students the opportunity to spend time with Rotarians at their places of work. Around 20 students participated, exploring careers in fields such as banking, law enforcement, and information technology. The experience provided valuable insight into professional life and helped strengthen connections between local youth and the Edmond business community.

In keeping with the spirit of service and support, the club held its annual scholarship presentation, recognizing three outstanding local high school seniors for their academic achievements and dedication to community service. Led by Scholarship Chairperson Christine Merideth, alongside committee members Chris Berry, Peggy Geib, and Marcy Leonard, the presentation was a celebration of the students’ hard work and promise for the future.
This year’s scholarship recipients include:
  • Maggie Stroman, Santa Fe High School
  • Delaney Grubbs, Edmond North High School
  • Noah Lee, Santa Fe High School
In a heartwarming surprise, Delaney Grubbs was also honored with the Charles Lamb Service Above Self Scholarship, a distinction awarded to a student who exemplifies Rotary’s highest ideal of selfless service. Grubbs’ exceptional commitment to serving others in her community truly stood out among a strong group of applicants.
The Rotary Club of Edmond remains committed to its mission of “Service Above Self,” whether by supporting youth education, creating new opportunities to connect with future leaders, or helping students explore career possibilities.

District Celebration Brings Fun and Fellowship at RYLA Camp

We had a fantastic group come together for the District Celebration at RYLA Camp on Saturday, May 3rd. The weather was perfect, setting the stage for a day filled with fun, laughter, and Rotary fellowship.

Kids lined up eagerly for horseback riding, while talented storytellers captivated audiences with engaging tales. Chuck’s Bar-B-Que served up a delicious meal that everyone enjoyed, and the Rotary Club of Midwest City added a sweet touch by bringing homemade ice cream and creating old-fashioned ice cream floats.

District Governor Jack Werner presented awards, and District Trainer Roy Wood recognized the two District Leadership Academy graduates who attended the celebration.

The evening wrapped up on a high note with Bruce Ewing from Midwest City leading a lively square dance—an energetic and joyful finale to a memorable day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration a success!

Dear Rotarians,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some exciting news about a collaborative effort between the West Oklahoma City Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Kolhapur, India. Together, we have embarked on a significant global grant project aimed at benefiting the Crossings Community Clinic in Oklahoma City.

There has been a tremendous amount of interest in this initiative, revealing the commitment and passion of our Rotary community. This project is indeed large in scope, and the enthusiasm we've received from District 5750 and various other clubs has been inspiring. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to procure essential equipment for both campuses of the clinic. Crossings Community Clinic is  fortunate to have already received pledges from anonymous donors, which will help bridge the funding gap for some of the high-cost equipment that the Global Grant will not be able to obtain.

I have strong confidence that, through the Global Grant and District Designated Funds (DDF), along with support from Rotary clubs throughout District 5750 and surrounding areas, we can successfully achieve our goal. The collaboration between West OKC and Kolhapur Rotary Clubs is pivotal in strengthening our international support.

For those who may not be familiar with the requirements for a Global Grant, it is essential to note that 15% of the total funds must come from international clubs. While the Kolhapur Rotary Club is eager to contribute, the request for 15% of project funds poses a significant challenge for them. Thus, I kindly encourage each of you to reach out to your international contacts who may be able to support this substantial endeavor.

Should you have any questions, ideas, or if you are interested in contributing, please do not hesitate to contact me. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the Crossings Community Clinic and the communities it serves.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication.
