I hope everyone stays warm and safe in this extra chilly weather that has blown into the state.
The month of February is Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution Month at Rotary. This focus area is significant to me, and I love that by being part of Rotary, I can help make a difference in this way. Not only is part of Rotary's vision is making an impact in the world but to also promote lasting change. By members taking action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources, we can create environments of peace. How does your club help in this area?
A few updates that I wanted to make sure and share with the clubs are regarding my visits. I had hoped to be able to do in-person visits after the first of the year, but Rotary International has given the direction that District Governors should not travel for the remaining Rotary year. I've visited many clubs virtually this year and will be reaching out to the remaining clubs to complete my virtual visits before July. Additionally, this means that we will not be able to have an in-person District Conference this year, and it has been decided we will do something virtual to celebrate the clubs. Please stay tuned for more information regarding our Virtual District Conference.
I look forward to visiting with you again soon!
Thanks,
Angela Rickman
