Celebrating a Year of Growth and Community Involvement
2024-2025 School Year Highlights
As the 2024-2025 school year unfolds, West Oklahoma City has been a hub of activity and engagement, largely driven by our dedicated Youth Service initiatives. The atmosphere has been charged with energy, unity, and a shared mission: to inspire and empower our youth.
This year marks the continuation of our beloved Student Teacher of the Year program, now in its second successful year. We have witnessed incredible educators stepping into our classrooms, bringing innovative ideas and enthusiasm that motivate our students every day. Each month, we proudly honor those who make significant contributions to learning, celebrating the hard work and dedication that permeates our schools.
A major milestone this year has been the establishment of the Western Heights High School Interact Club . With 13 charter members, this club launched its inaugural year with a commitment to service and leadership. The students have actively engaged with the community through various initiatives, including local clean-up efforts and fundraising projects aimed at addressing community needs. Their infectious spirit motivates not just their peers but the entire school community.
On April 30th, we hosted a memorable banquet to honor the charter seniors of the Interact Club. This special evening was a heartfelt celebration of their collective journey, brimming with laughter, shared memories, and the love of family and friends. During the festivities, we recognized Ms. LaTonia Moore-Galberth, the dedicated Interact Club Advisor, with an award of appreciation for her exceptional support and mentorship throughout the year. Additionally, the prestigious Interactor of the Year award was presented to an outstanding student whose unwavering dedication has inspired all those around them. As a wonderful send-off, we also presented the graduating seniors with the Interact Stole, symbolizing their accomplishments and contributions to the club.
As we prepare to close out the school year, the excitement continues with the Student Teacher of the Month Award Luncheon scheduled for May 21st. This event will not only highlight the achievements of our exemplary educators but also foster a deeper sense of community as we gather together to share stories and gratitude.
Furthermore, as a fitting conclusion to this enriching year, we will present an award of appreciation to our partners at the Western Heights School District. This gesture signifies our gratitude for their unwavering support and dedication to fostering an environment where students can thrive.
As we look towards summer, the impact of this year’s Youth Service initiatives will undoubtedly continue to resonate within our community. Together, we are building a foundation of leadership, mentorship, and service that will inspire generations to come.
