In Yukon, Carolyn Terrell, the founder of the “Youth Shoe Project” has a new way to describe Rotary.  She writes:
“Not all blue angels have wings. Some have blue Rotary shirts!!!”  Rotarians helped transport about 500 pairs of shoes,  along with shoe racks, to a storage area in preparation for the “shopping day” for children and youth in the community who come to pick out free new shoes and socks before school starts. The shoe project was founded 12 years ago when Mrs. Terrell found that many children in our district did not have the ability to purchase new shoes and socks to begin the school year.  It continues on each year, with the help of Yukon Rotary Club, making a difference in the lives of children and their families.
