What a busy month July has been for your Rotary District Governor line and our Treasurer and Administrator. On July 8th, our leadership team met and planned this year's district budget. Committee chairs should be on the lookout for an email explaining their allocation.
On July 22nd another planning meeting was held to plan the District Assembly for District Officers & Committee Chairs, Assistant District Governors, and Club Officer Training. This will be held on August 27th from 10 am to 2 pm with lunch provided by the District. Registration is now open so sign up HERE!

Our summer 2022 Camp RYLA has been rescheduled to October 11, 2022 at Camp WOW in Stuart, Oklahoma. District Governor Deena Fisher, District Governor Nominee Jack Werner, District Trainer PDG Jessica Sherrill, RYLA Co-Chair Jeff Gablesberg, and Midwest City Rotarian Chili McQuillar met with the Camp WOW director this weekend to help prepare for RYLA!

District Governor Elect Jeanean Yanish Jones and District Wings of Rotary Chair Keith Oehlert attended SCRYE (South Central Rotary Youth Exchange) Training in Albuquerque. After a few years of youth exchange programs being unable to happen due to the pandemic, we are excited to welcome our Wings of Rotary and Youth Exchange programs back to the District!
The Yukon Rotary Club had several members who worked on the “shoe project “ which transported and helped distribute new boxed shoes for children in our school district who need them. Midwest City - Legacy Celebration
The Midwest City Rotary Club celebrated the service of its longest-tenured members in their Legacy Celebration event on May 16, 2022. The celebration focused on those members that had been in the club for at least 30 years. This specific club was founded in Midwest City on October 28, 1954 and several of the members have been a part of the club almost since its inception and most with perfect attendance for their entire membership.

Ponca City - Service Mobs!
Ponca City Rotary participated in the Chamber of Commerce’s Be Kind Campaign by adopting Pioneer Park and picking up litter on July 23rd.
Rotary volunteers helped organize and sort children’s books for the Child Development Center. This organization provides opportunities for social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth as part of its curriculum.
On July 25th, Art Bode, an educator from Midwest City High School, received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from our club. He has sponsored the Interact Club at his school and was a recipient of a club grant to support the Impact Program at MCHS.

South Oklahoma City Rotarians recently spent a morning picking up trash with River Sports River Protectors. Anyone who has biked or ran on the river trails has seen the insane amount of trash that line the river. We spent 2 hours picking up trash and were dismayed with the volume of trash left by visitors!
Edmond - Officer Installation
The new president of Rotary Club of Edmond cast her vision for strengthening club service and community relationships during the installation of new officers for the fiscal year. The event took place at the club’s regular meeting at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Edmond on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
On Tuesday, July 16th, several Midwest City Rotarians met at Madison's Restaurant for the weekly Del City Rotary Meeting. The RYLA District Chairman Jeff Gaselsberg and Co-Chair Brenna Meritt spoke about 2022-2023 plans for Ryla. This October, there will be a Ryla Youth Leadership camp held in Stuart, Oklahoma.

At a recent meeting, we learned a bit more about each other with “bring your favorite hat to Rotary day!” Our friend Allie E. Burgin’s favorite hat: the US Navy Shellback hat!! Few get to cross the Equator in a warship! Allie did just that in 1962 Maiden Voyage of USS Kitty Hawk Nuclear Air Craft Carrier!! WOW! How cool!!
