"I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be." - Douglas Adams

As I wrap up my final month as District Governor and reflect on the journey, I think this quote puts it so well because each of our intentions going into 2020 at home, work, school, and Rotary were all impacted somehow. Yet, despite challenges, I am exactly where I intended to be, here with each of you, and so proud to be a Rotarian. Looking forward, I am excited to see how our clubs reemerge and renew themselves with the support of our incoming District Governor - Matt Tipton. I am happy to think about opportunities to see each other in person soon!

In the meantime, I hope to see you at our Virtual District Conference, which will celebrate our clubs on June 17th at 6 pm. Please share the invite with your members as we will be doing 2 - $1,000 grant giveaways to support club projects for those in attendance. We'll have some fun and have a toast to the year, so please feel free to have a drink of your choice ready in celebration! The registration information can be found below.

Thanks,
Angela Rickman

Looking for Clubs to Partner in the Fight Against Malaria
OKC Rotary and Malaria Partners International have begun work on a global grant to fight malaria in the Katakwi District in Uganda. Malaria kills 409,000 people each year, 67% of whom are under five years old. A model Malaria Partners project in Zambia resulted in a reduction in Malaria cases from 30% of the population to 5%, and in the twenty four months since the completion of that project, no children have died of malaria in the project area.
